Band On The Wall, Manchester
Band On The Wall, previously the George and Dragon pub, has been part of the history of Manchester for over 200 years and has been a music venue at least since the 1930s.
The name Band On The Wall is derived from the small stage that was built in the 1930s, high up on the wall, so that musicians could perform. The idea for this stage came from the landlord of the time, Ernie Tyson.
