Opened in 1962, the name was changed to the Bakersfield Convention Center in the 1980s following a remodel of the adjacent hotel. Renamed Centennial Garden & Convention Center in 1998, Rabobank Theater & Convention Center in 2005 and now currently known as Mechanics Bank Theater & Convention Center.
