US label from Maryland, founded in 1968 by [a744923] (T/A). Also appears as just "Adelphi" or "ARI". Do not confuse with record company [l87263]

The latter was founded in 1971 as parent company and over the next decade the label expanded rapidly, releasing over 120 LPs and expanding into cassette production. In the late 1980s through the early 1990s, [l124777] and [l3137723] were added as sublabels under the Adelphi Records banner. In the early 1990s, all LP and cassette production was ceased, and CD-only sister label Genes was discontinued and its catalog moved to their respective labels. At present, Adelphi Records continues to release new CDs (and digital downloads of same) as well as slowly re-releasing yet more of the original LP catalog as either CD or digital only download re-releases.
